The VeraFix Guarantee

This is a starter document. Please have a lawyer review it before you publish your app to make sure it fits your business and region.

What the Guarantee covers

Every booking made and paid for inside the VeraFix app is covered by the VeraFix Guarantee. Your payment is authorized by Stripe when a pro accepts the job, but it is not released to the pro until you confirm the job is complete, so you are never charged for work that hasn’t happened yet.

Verified pros

Every pro on VeraFix reaches at least Bronze level (email and phone verified) before they can accept paid work. Silver badge pros have completed identity verification through Stripe (a government ID check). Gold badge pros have also confirmed a business profile. Verification is a check at a point in time, not a guarantee of the quality or outcome of any specific job.

Payment protection

Homeowner payments are processed by Stripe and held until the job is confirmed complete. VeraFix’s service fee is added on top of the pro’s price and shown before you book, there are no hidden charges. Pros are paid out automatically once you confirm completion.

Disputes and mediation

If something goes wrong, before confirming the job as complete, open a dispute from the booking in the app. The VeraFix team reviews the details from both sides, including messages and any evidence provided, and decides whether the payment should be released to the pro or refunded to you. Reward credits used on a refunded booking are automatically restored to your account.

Safety tools

Share live booking details with family, use in-app safety check-ins, and report or block anyone in a single tap. Every report is reviewed by the VeraFix team.

What isn’t covered

The Guarantee only applies to bookings made and paid for inside the VeraFix app. Off-app payments or arrangements made outside the app are never covered, and asking for or agreeing to an off-app payment is against our Terms of Service, this is also the single most common pattern in home-service scams. Subjective preferences that don’t involve a broken commitment (for example, a color choice you later change your mind about) are best resolved directly with your pro through a review and, if needed, a good-faith conversation rather than a dispute.

How to make a claim

Open the booking in the VeraFix app and tap “Open a dispute,” or email safety@verafix.net with your booking details. Contact us as soon as possible, ideally before confirming the job as complete, since payment release generally follows that confirmation.
