Service Pro Agreement

This is a starter document. Please have a lawyer review it before you publish your app to make sure it fits your business and region.

This Service Pro Agreement supplements our general Terms of Service and applies specifically to professionals (“pros”) offering services through VeraFix.

Independent contractor

You are an independent business, not a VeraFix employee, contractor, or agent. You set your own quotes, choose which jobs to accept, and are responsible for your own taxes, licensing, insurance, and compliance with local law for the trades you offer.

Getting paid

You keep 100% of the price you quote and the homeowner agrees to. VeraFix never deducts a commission from your payout. VeraFix’s service fee is charged to the homeowner on top of your price, it does not reduce what you receive.

Payouts require Stripe Connect

To accept paid bookings, you must complete payout onboarding through Stripe Connect, including identity verification. Payment for a job is authorized when you accept the booking and released to your connected account automatically once the homeowner confirms the job is complete. Completing Stripe’s identity verification is also what unlocks your Silver verification badge.

Gold verification

Adding a complete business profile (business name and license or registration number) in addition to Stripe identity verification unlocks the Gold badge, VeraFix’s highest trust tier.

VeraFix Pro subscription

VeraFix Pro is an optional paid subscription. Subscribing doesn’t change what you personally pay, since you never pay a commission, it lowers the service fee homeowners see when booking you and gives you featured placement, making your profile more competitive.

Accepting and completing jobs

Once you accept a job, the homeowner’s payment is authorized and held by Stripe. Complete the work as described and agreed, mark the job as started and finished in the app, and the homeowner will be asked to confirm completion so your payout is released.

Disputes

If a homeowner opens a dispute instead of confirming completion, the VeraFix team reviews the evidence from both sides and decides whether the held payment is released to you or refunded to the homeowner. Respond promptly and honestly to any dispute request, message history and job details are part of what we review.

Reviews and reputation

Homeowners can rate and review completed jobs. Reviews contribute to your public rating and Trust Score. VeraFix does not remove honest reviews on request, you can respond to a review through in-app support if you believe it violates our Terms.

Conduct

Off-app payment requests, harassment, discrimination, fraud, or misrepresenting your identity, licensing, or verification status are grounds for suspension or removal from VeraFix.
